As the owner of a company, a business or any organization, one of the expectations that you have as the owner or manager of the business is that your employees are fully productive. It can however happen that workers start to seem lazy and unproductive. One of the reasons for this detrimental behavior in a business setting is drug and substance abuse. This does not only cause unproductivity but can be a cause for safety and health hazards. Drug testing has hence been introduced in the workplace. Apart from the job applicants, directors are also performed on employees to deter them from abusing drugs and alcohol. It also allows the management team to identify any employees that may show signs of drug and alcohol abuse problems and correctly refer them to getting help.
